ECACOMSIG is organising a competition for postgraduate students and early-career postdoctoral researchers to write a piece of software that will illustrate in a graphical way some aspect of crystallography. There is a single prize of one free registration for the European Crystallographic Meeting (ECM28) at Warwick University in August 2013.
The competition is to produce a piece of software that illustrates some aspect of crystallography in a graphical way - so maybe in a web browser application, or using some toolkit (e.g. Tk, QT...) that allows it to run easily on commonly available computers. Source code must be provided to the judges.
The software should not be part of work presented for a degree, or that has been submitted for publication elsewhere.
Entries (and enquiries about entries) should be sent to Harry Powell
The judges will be Harry Powell, Martin Lutz and Andrea Thorn, whose decision will be final.
Closing date for receipt of entries: 23:59 BST on 30th June 2012
